Volkssturm – Ammunition to the Frontline. 1/35th Scale, Kit # MB35182This is a really cool set of two young people bringing ammunition and supplies to front line troops in a cart. These are German children (most likely in Berlin) at the end of the war (April/May 1945). One is a male Hitler Youth (Hitlerjugen) age 14-18 or German Youth (Deutsches Jungvolk) Younger than age 14. And one female League of German Girls (Bund Deutscher Madel) age 14-18 or Young Girl’s League (Jungmadel) age 10 to 14. Weapons and equipment include: (3) Steel Helmets (Stahlhelm), (3) Gas Mask canisters, (3) KAR-98 Rifles, (2) Model 24 (Stielhandgranate) Stick Grenades, (3) Panzerfaust 60 anti-tank weapons, (1) Gewehr 43 and (1) British Sten gun (I’m sure there were some around in Berlin, but I’m not sure why that is included in the set)?
Contains 4 sprues with 42 pieces that have little or no flash and one photo etched brass sprue containing 24 pieces designed by NorthStarModels.
You have two really nice looking young adult Germans pulling a cart full of weapons and supplies.
The weapons, uniforms/clothing and equipment look accurate.
This is another really cool looking set from Master Box that can be added to a late war Berlin diorama.
The uniforms and equipment are covered in numerous books, so information on these should not be too hard to find.
Overall this should build into an outstanding replica and is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys figures. I would like to thank Alexander Surzhenko of Master Box Models for the review kit.
